"Then we had a major electrical fault and repairs took a couple of months over last (very cold) winter. We also replaced the engine oil with fresh as the condition of the old oil was very bad. Anyway, this year the locomotive has successfully and reliably worked all required diagrams at the Mid Norfolk Railway with absolutely no loss of coolant at all, no coolant has got into the oil via the cylinder liner seals or appeared at any of the usual pipe joint suspects. The K-seal appears to be doing its job as described. I am happy with it, the Committee of the Class 37 Loco Group is happy and so far it has saved us an engine strip-down to replace the ‘liner seals".
